AFRO FADO
In my inspirations for my work, I always draw upon the journeys I take, the music I listen to, historical references, and even the people who cross my daily life.
I have been to the Congo twice, more specifically to Pointe-Noire, which was once called Ponta Negra, a city that hosted a major port on the southern coast of Africa under Portuguese rule.
Although today the country's official language is French, Portuguese influence remains deeply rooted there, whether in the music, the architecture, or even in many words of the African vocabulary.
On both occasions I visited, I travelled through several villages as well as schools. I never missed the opportunity to interact with those wonderful people and to photograph them, certain that one day I would express that energy in my art.
And so today, I am delighted to present to you my AFRO FADO collection.
