AZUL, BRANCO & CARVAO

The purest cobalt blue used in the typical Portuguese tiles with a white background blends with all the signif- icance of coal, from the depths of mines that brought so much history to Portugal, thus overlaying the raw materi- al, composing "Blue, White, and Coal," O Gringo's new exhibition at Luka Art Gallery, which once again opens the halls of Palácio Biester for a sensational exhibition filled with meaning.

By exploring the possibilities of painting and charcoal
on tile, the French artist allows himself in this new se- ries to achieve the utmost expression of his work, com- bined with all the intensity of fado, a striking and au- thentic presence in the artist's pieces, deeply immersed in Portuguese culture. Strength and hope are the main conceptual axes, with a message of strength and hope, highlighting the figures of the horse and the stork, adding profound meaning to each piece. Described as the artist's most authentic series, curated by Ana Carolina Azevedo, the exhibition connects the key elements of Portuguese Cultural Heritage in spectacular works, intensifying emo- tion and sensitivity.

In the year when Luka Art Gallery presents various in- terpretations of Time, the artist O Gringo now brings, through the exploration of the country's historical refer- ences and the power of Fado, the most intense translation of resilience from the perspective of hope for tomorrow, on tiles painted in "Blue, White, and Coal."
