BLUE ONE COLLECTION

Every new collection is born from a fracture, a journey, or a prolonged silence. For my latest series, "Blue One", I wanted to dive into the heart of a nomadic pigment that entirely reshaped the visual landscape of my adopted home: Cobalt Blue. Through these pieces, I invite you to explore a story of maritime fusions, waiting, and eternity.

THE BLUE THAT BRIDGES CIVILIZATIONS
Portugal • China • Japan
The Odyssey of a Nomadic Pigment
Through this collection, I travel across several centuries to tell my story: that of Cobalt Blue. Born under the Yuan dynasty from the encounter of Chinese kaolin and Persian cobalt, this nomadic pigment guides my journey. I follow the footsteps of the Portuguese navigators true cultural conduits who returned from their voyages carrying Asian treasures, craftsmanship, and fascinating stories that permanently transformed European art.
Chinese Blue:
In Jingdezhen, master potters fused pure porcelain with Silk Road cobalt, creating an imperishable, deep blue that captivated the world.
Lusitanian Heritage:
Transfixed by this "white gold," Portugal reinvented the art of azulejos . Blue and white became the canvas of oceans, faith, and the Age of Discovery.
Japanese Aesthetics:
In 17th century Arita, Japan mastered Imari porcelain. Beyond ceramics, Portuguese travelers brought back the rich imagery of Nippon from delicate poetry to the mysterious elegance of the geisha
.
"White Gold" and Saudade
Lisbon established itself as the epicenter of Eastern trade in Europe. A true artistic fusion unfolded: Chinese artisans incorporated Portuguese caravels and coats of arms, while Portugal wrapped its palaces in monumental porcelain murals.
Yet this blue also reflects waiting and distance: the women remaining on shore and the alluring figures of Asia, like the geishas, guardians of tradition. From this absence, Saudade was born the soul of Fado.
"It is not a sadness. It is a form of fidelity." Fado.
A journey through time where Chinese blue, the grace of the geisha, and the Portuguese spirit converge to turn the art of travel into an eternal masterpiece.
A historical and vibrant collection, where the softness of Chinese blue unites with the Portuguese soul to transform the pain of absence into an eternal work of art.
