BLUE ONE COLLECTION

THE WOMAN WHO REMAINS.
BLUE ONE Collection | O Gringo

Every maritime civilization is built upon a fracture: the one who departs and the one who remains.
In the 15th century, men challenged the unknown aboard Portuguese caravels, seeking survival or glory. Women, however, bore everything: the land, the family, and the wait. From this silence, Fado was born—the voice of Saudade, the truth of pain, and the love for the absent.
In this work, O Gringo freezes that moment. The woman's gaze inhabits the canvas with a dignity forged by waiting. The cracks in the ceramic are not breaks, but the cartography of a life lived between two returns.
And everywhere, this Blue.
A traveling blue, born in China under the Yuan, polished in Persia, and magnified in Delft before anchoring in Lisbon as a shield against oblivion. The blue made the same journey as the men: China · Persia · Al-Andalus · Delft · Lisbon. Seven centuries of history in a single color.
Through the Abstract Me collection, the artist unites these two destinies: the blue that sails and the woman who watches. The broken porcelain recalls those lost; the gold leaf celebrates those who had the courage to stay.
As Fado says: It is not a sadness. It is a form of fidelity.
