My artistic inspiration is deeply rooted in the journeys I take, the music I listen to, historical references, and the people I encounter along the way.
I traveled twice to the Congo, specifically to Pointe-Noire, formerly known as Ponta Negra, a port city on the southern coast of Africa shaped by Portuguese maritime history. Although French is now the official language, the influence of Portugal remains strongly present in the music, the architecture, and even in many expressions of local vocabulary.
During my visits, I journeyed through villages and schools, meeting extraordinary people and capturing their presence through photography. These encounters left a lasting impression on me, carrying a powerful emotional and human energy that I knew would one day become part of my artistic language.
From these experiences was born the *Afro Fado* collection — a dialogue between African identity and Portuguese cultural heritage, between rhythm and melancholy, between movement and memory. Inspired by Fado and African music, this series reflects themes of connection, resilience and shared history, transforming lived encounters into poetic and symbolic visual narratives.
